My grandpa has a mild stroke on Tuesday, prompting my family to go back to Malacca on Tuesday. That's right, we are that efficient.
We reached Malacca by 9pm. Feeling helpless seeing my grandpa being inactive. He was really health conscious and yet the stroke was due to high cholesterol . I mean, where the heck did the cholesterol come from??? Milo???
All of us feared that life is never going to be the same again. And also we were worried that the sudden change of lifestyle will discourage grandpa. How can he live on if his life was used to be very very independent? He always rejects our help because he can do anything by himself, e.g. buy groceries, transportation, carry heavy items at home, etc. Now he has be 300% less active than himself.
We got him admitted to the hospital the next day. We were all glad because he could finally get some sleep since his first stroke. We all took turns to watch him and I took care of him from 5pm to 7pm. Really pity him, because his daily life really based on his willpower to live. But now I can feel that he felt guilty for burdening his children.
Today my family left Malacca except for my mom who will be taking care of his father. The mood in the atmosphere is entirely different from last time. For the first time, I'm leaving Malacca feeling du-lan. Sigh.
Aiks. Grandpa, get well soon! Feel fortunate that your children is willing to come back and help you!
